A national historic landmark building, Memorial Stadium is known as one of the best college stadiums to watch football. At the bottom of the Berkeley Hills the dramatic bowl also provides a spectacular view of the San Francisco Bay, the Campus Campanile and the Golden Gate Bridge. The renovation includes restoration of the historic façade, new concourses with concessions, athletic training rooms, lockers and administrative offices, accessibility and a new press box. Phase II involves the complex seismic retrofit of the stadium, which is built directly over a section of the Hayward fault.
